The Swanston Explainer
About The Swanston Explainer
'The Swanston Explainer' is a podcast run by RMIT journalism students. Each year, the 'Reporting With Sound and Image' class will produce a podcast series from start to finish, with every student taking on a different role within a group. In the semester I was involved in 'The Swanston Explainer,' the podcast's theme revolved around the Federal election.
I was one of the four series producers during this project, which meant I overseed the creation of three groups' podcast episodes. I was involved in the pre-production, production and post-production of the episodes, guiding each group member and helping them along with their story, ensuring everything was to a professional standard. This project helped me realise my passion for podcast production, and it is an activity I thoroughly enjoy.
